PCI Group Opens Scheduling Certification ProgramSince 1995 PCI Group has provided scheduling support on thousands of construction projects. There are so many variables involved in developing a construction schedule, from the type of project to the requirements of the owner, from the demands of project management to the risk of disputes, it can be difficult to standardize training that will equip construction schedulers to prepare schedules that work. One thing is certain - preparing and managing a schedule as a successful working tool requires good scheduling training. Over the last 10 years PCI Group has standardized training for its consultants in order to provide quality and consistency for its clients. PCI Group is now offering its standard Level 1 Construction Scheduling Certification Program to the construction industry as part of its new training curriculum. Beginning in 2008 all introduction scheduling classes will be presented using the Level 1 Certification processes. These classes include: • Introduction to Scheduling with P6; • Introduction to Scheduling with Suretrak; • Introduction to Scheduling with Primavera P3; and, • Introduction to Scheduling with MS Project. Level 1 Certification will cover topics like the basic understanding of the Critical Path Method of scheduling, building a reliable baseline schedule, updating a schedule to keep it accurate (including delay management), using resources in scheduling, and getting quality output from a schedule. The two day Level 1 classes will end with the Level 1 Certification exam. All recipients of the Level 1 Certification will be entered into a database for verification purposes. Some things will not change. The great quality and field experience of our instructors will still meet the high standards that PCI customers have come to expect in the field and in the classroom. This new curriculum will integrate with our existing training and will only enhance the opportunities and learning experience for participants.
